Diamondbacks @ Dodgers August 31, 2025: Dodgers want to avoid a sweep and be the first until the end of August – Dodgers Digest

The Dodgers (77-59) continued to struggle last night against lesser competition with a loss of 6-1. Tyler GlasNow Was usually dominant last night, but one Corbin Carroll Homer and a sloppy defense gave the Dodgers an insurmountable shortage of three run. Pretend Zac Gallen on Friday Eduardo Rodriguez Came into play with an ERA of more than 5.00 and excluded the Dodgers for six innings.

Is that good. According to the broadcast last night, they have been 11-4 since the end of July against teams of more than .500 and 5-9 (now 5-10) against teams under .500. For at least one day, the diamondbacks still qualify at 68-69 and their next match against a team that is currently older than .500 is on September 15, so they have to figure out something. They have the chance to practice those demons and their demons against pitchers with a high era today in the final with Arizona.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto Makes his first start in Dodger Stadium in more than a month. His last five came on the road and comes from the only victory in San Diego last weekend. Yama allowed two runs and four hits about six innings and left the game tied to 2 Jeremiah Estrada In the first place of the seventh to give Yamamoto the victory. This month he has beaten exactly six strikers in each of his four starts, but has allowed a homer in each of his last three games after he had only allowed one in his previous seven. Yama made two starts against Arizona in May with very different levels of success. His first bad start of the season arrived in Arizona on 8 May, so that five runs and six hits in five innings were allowed after only four points earned in his seven starts prior to that. He saw them again in La Two starts later and was dominant, threw seven innings of a hit ball with nine strikeouts and two free walking. He did not make a decision after the Dodgers scored only one point through nine innings and Tanner Scott blew the save, but the Dodgers beat it up Shelby Miller In the 10th for a 4-3 victory.

Brandon Pfaadt Gets the ball for Arizona. Normally, 5.24 ERA in 27 Starts would feel a good thing to face, but that actually guarantees six shutout today. The total figures from Pfaadt are still trying to recover from back-to-back nightmare-star earlier this season. He faced Washington on 31 May, faced eight batters and stood four Doubles, two singles and hit two batters before he was pulled out without taking one out. He did not really bounce back in his next start, allowing six points and six hits in three innings in Atlanta. He actually got his ERA under 5.00 two, but had a rough outing in Milwaukee the previous time out. The Bewers tagged Pfaadt for eight hits and six runs in 2 2/3 innings. Of course he made two starts against the Dodgers in May and was pretty good both times. He threw 6 1/3 Shutout against the Dodgers in Arizona on 8 May against Yamamoto and then went to LA and stood three points on three hits (all Solo homers) in six innings. Mookie Betts took him twice and deep and Shohei Ohtani Take one out in the sixth.

Pfaadt has not exactly been a big strikeout man in his career, but his strikeout rate has fallen this season. His 24.3 percent strikeout percentage last season was quite solid (60th percentile on Savant), but that is up to 18.7 percent this season. He has thrown a four-seizer (25.6 percent), zinc shed (22.9 percent), wipe machine (19.8 percent), change (15.9 percent), curve (8.7 percent) and cutter (7.1 percent).

The Dodgers roll with a semi-regular Sunday setup. Dalton Hurry starts behind the plate and Alex Call Start the start right away Teoscar Hernandez. Teo has been cold lately (3 for his last 27), so Call starts with Michael Comfort Left.

Kim is an option to run some left in the Bigs, because he has done a few times on his rehabilitation assignment.
