‘I will do this more than please’ – Cheteshwar Pujara ‘Open’ for coaching role after retirement | Cricker

Former Indian cricket player Cheteshwar Pujara has said that in the future he will be more than happy to fulfill a coaching role for the Indian team. The 37-year-old Pujara called time on his international career on August 24, 2025. Pujara also published how much joy broadcast he gave him. He noted that he would be willing to serve Indian cricket in whatever capacity.

“I certainly enjoyed the temporary work. So I will certainly continue to do that. When it comes to coaching or any work at the NCA (BCCi Center of Excellence), I will be open to it. I really didn’t really think about it. If there is an opportunity, I will be more than happy.” Pujara was cited by the Hindoe.

Pujara expressed his father Arvind Pujara, deceased mother Reena Pujara and wife Puja Pabari for their support and contributions in his cricket trip.

“It was an emotional moment for him [Pujara’s father] also. He was also an inspiration for me because his dedication to Cricket was excellent and I learned a lot from him. But I also want to thank my mother. I lost my mother when I was 17 because of cancer, but she taught me many things. She taught me to be a good person. My wife Pooja too, she wrote a book where she writes that there is a village for a person to be a successful cricket player, “Pujara added.

Pujara played his last international game for India In June 2023, after which it was never considered in the mix. Pujara played 103 tests and five odis for India. He withdrew with 7195 runs on an average of 43.60 in the longest size, including 19 centuries and 35 half center.
