Suresh Raina picked Abhishek Sharma As the Slagman who could replicate his fearless playing style in the current Indian team. The former cricket player in India was the first to score centuries in all three sizes for the men in Blue in internationals. He was also a productive Run-Getter in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and played a key role in helping Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to win five titles.
Abhishek, on the other hand, had a fantastic outing in IPL 2024 and hit borders for fun against some of the best bowlers in World Cricket. He then earned a place in the Indian T20 setup and hit his first international century in just his second competition. Since then, Abhishek has played some fascinating punches, trusting his ultra-aggressive approach with the willow.
Raina admitted that he liked Abhishek Bat and said that the Punjab All-Rounder is being accompanied by the legendary Yuvraj Singh.
“Abhishek Sharma. I really love the way he plays, fearless. Yuvi Pa trained him a lot,” said Raina when he was asked to choose a batter who could be his next version, on the YouTube channel of Shubhankar Mishra.

Apart from Abhishek, Raina also chose two other left -handed batters – Priyansh Arya and Yashasvi Jaiswal – who can do well for the country. While talking about Yashasvi, Raina said that the Mumbai seizure has a fighting spirit and praised his game consciousness.
“I think Priyansh Arya can also be a very dominant player. However, I have the feeling that Yashasvi Jaiswal has a different work ethics. There is a fighting spirit. He scored a hundred in Australia and England. His game consciousness is very good,” Rainina has.
Priyansh Arya still has to earn his Maiden India call-up. However, he was impressed by the bat for Punjab Kings in IPL 2025 and ended with 475 runs in 17 innings against a success rate of 179.25. In the meantime, Yashasvi Eng in a place in India’s team for the Asia Cup, where Abhishek Sharma is expected to open the batting with Sanju Samson or Shubman Gill.
