Alison Lee is no stranger to winning golf tournaments. Lee, a former amateur with no. But she still has to conquer an LPGA Tour win. And she certainly did not do that months after the birth.
But that is precisely the scenario that Lee this weekend in the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship. A little more than four months after the birth of her first child, the 30-year-old bound for the leadership in her third tournament is back.
((UPDATE: After heavy rainstorms had earned the host course on Saturday evening, the LPGA Tour made the “difficult decision” to cancel the rest of the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship, ending Lee’s opportunities for victory. The tournament is reduced to an 18-hole unofficial event.)

When Lee her son Levi Todd Kidd welcomed the world on April 25 And announced the news days later, the LPGA season 2025 was a side issue. Lee confirmed the same amount in her press conference before the tournament on Thursday.
“Immediately after I gave birth, if you told me that I would play in four or five months, I would probably not have said,” Lee said. “I am really happy that I was able to make it and play here.”
But determined not to “get behind” in her game by taking too much free time, Lee resumed her professional golf career much earlier than she expected.

Earlier this month, Lee returned to action on the Let’s Aramco Houston Championship, where she made the cut and T53 ended. Her first LPGA start since he became a mother came last week Kroger Queen City Championship, where she missed the cut.
Even with everything she went through, Lee admitted that she was not happy with her results so far for this week’s event.
“I feel that I am a bit disappointed where I will be in these two weeks,” Lee revealed. “Of course it doesn’t want to expect too much and give myself grace because I have taken some free time and has experienced my body a lot. At the same time I want to come here and play well.”
In the opening round at Pinnacle Country Club, she did better than ‘play well’. Lee shot a seven-under 64 to bind the lead before the game was suspended due to dangerous weather.
“It feels so good,” Lee said after the opening round. “I mean, I am coming on these three weeks, I have the feeling that I was doing as much as possible to prepare myself, and the past two weeks felt a bit disappointing because I felt that my game was in a really good place. Of course you just never know until you showed it up … Feeled like I was very well adapted. Happy with my round.”
She added: “I know we have two more days left, but it is such a good start for me and it is a good feeling to see my hard work wages and see that it was all worthwhile.”
As for what she has improved to reverse her results on the track this week, Lee said that he was better adapted to both being on tour and mother, with an assist from Baby Levi.
“Just try to adapt to everything and life here. Fortunately my son also sleeps eight hours in a row, so that helps me a lot alone in terms of recovery and tranquility.”
Lee reveals that she did not hit a driver until two months ago
If you thought it was unbelievable that Lee took only four months to return to Pro Golf after the arrival of her son, you will probably disrupt this following fact.
It appears that Lee had much less time to get her game in shape, as she revealed in her Thursday press conference.
While her body recovered from a C section of the emergency situation, Lee was not allowed to hit Levi two months after the birth of Levi. In other words, only two months before she rose it in a pro event.

“So I had to have a C section for emergencies. They give you about six weeks to try to heal and you have to be very careful with that. But God, I itched to come back,” Lee revealed Thursday. “Exactly when the six weeks were over, I started to chip, put, make iron shots. Don’t really get to the driver until probably two months later, like eight or nine weeks. I felt really happy and as if I could recover fairly quickly. And I was working very hard.”
She also shared that a strong desire to be with her newborn baby made her comeback preparation even more difficult.
“As I did my best to try to work out as much as possible, you take a lot of walks if I couldn’t train when I was still in pain. I practiced a lot,” Lee said. “There were many days when I would hit reach and just cried, just like the whole time I am on the reach. You have so many different emotions. You have maternal fault, you ask yourself if you have a bad day of practice. What am I doing here? I could spend time with my son.”
She continued: “And then there are times when I want to do this so badly.
Despite all that, Lee leads this week’s event, a development that seems to have made her satisfied for the time being.
“I felt that it was quite a challenge in recent months. To be able to sit and play here, although I didn’t play the way I wanted in recent weeks, I feel that I have taken a long way.”
