I don’t think AI will ever replace real designers

Recently my feed has been flooded with AI-taced destination pages. Most of them look polished, but to be honest … they also look the same. Especially hero sections.

It made me think about the difference between designing a zoning page versus doing real UX/product design.
Landing pages are often about visuals. But product design is about solving actual problems, performing iterations and building a mission.

I was lucky to work with a number of really good designers (ex-Canva, turbotax). What struck me is how both Their product design and destination pages were clear and focused. Their visuals are always tied back to the mission of the product. It was not “let’s make this look fun”, it was, “Let’s say this something.”

That is why I do not buy the entire argument “AI will replace designers”. AI is good at spit out polished -looking templates. But design is more than visuals – it is strategy, empathy, messages and understanding the problem room. AI can help with implementation, but it cannot bear the mission.

No designer himself, just share what I have seen. Curious about what you all think: does AI make the design better or just fill the internet with cloning?
