Bolton Wanderers sporting director Fergal Harkin expects Amario Cozier-Duberry to remain at the club in January and not be recalled by Brighton & Hove Albion.
Bolton Wanderers key man Fergal Harkin says he is in regular contact with Brighton & Hove Albion and Fabian Hurzeler and says the club is very happy with the progress of loan star Amario Cozier-Duberry.
The young winger has been a crucial player for BWFC this season, sparking rumors of a January recall due to links with Sheffield United. However, that sentiment is not shared by Harkin.
“You talk about him being recalled… in every loan deal the parent club has the option to recall the player many times. But I speak to Brighton regularly and they are very happy,” Harkin said The Wanderers Way Podcast.
“What we said we would deliver for Amario, we have. He is performing for us, they are very happy with him and I don’t see that changing.”
Brighton boss Hurzeler was asked about Cozier-Duberry’s progress last month. The manager shared the sentiment with Harkin, saying he was very pleased with the player. Hurzeler did not comment on whether the club would recall the winger.
The Amario Cozier-Duberry show at Bolton Wanderers
Cozier-Duberry has been in good form for Bolton Wanderers this season, so talk of a recall comes as no surprise.
The 20-year-old has been at the heart of everything BWFC have done this season, with his late goals helping the Trotters climb higher.
After an ill-fated spell at Blackburn Rovers last season, Brighton were keen for Cozier-Duberry to go somewhere where he could excel, and Bolton proved to be the perfect place.

Boss Steven Schumacher has made him the focal point of his team, allowing him to flourish. The ex-Arsenal side have repaid that faith by scoring five times for BWFC so far, two of which were last-minute winners.
Cozier-Duberry’s stay at Bolton Wanderers is not only important for the Trotters and their promotion, but could be crucial to the winger’s further development.
Bolton Wanderers no longer go under the radar
After a summer overhaulBolton Wanderers have quietly climbed the table in their hunt for promotion.
Cozier-Duberry’s late goals have lifted the Trotters to 7th place, just two points behind 6th and five points off first place. The in-form winger’s excellent winner against Cardiff City last week is starting to get people talking about Wanderers.
Cozier-Duberry’s displays, combined with the goals of fellow loanee Mason Burstow, make the Trotters a force to be reckoned with.
Boss Schumacher, along with the BWFC faithful, will be hoping that Harkin’s words are true and that they keep hold of Cozier-Duberry as the team bids to reach the top two in League One.
