If you are looking for a shoe that combines a pillow with responsiveness to protect your joints on less than ideal surfaces (treadmills for apartments, someone?)-The impact of Hylo Athletics deserves some attention.
The impact of the Hylo Athletics represents the brand’s effort to create daily trainers with a sustainability focus that do not compromise about the performance.
40% of the shoe consists of bio -based material: The upper, the laces, the midsole, outsole and insole all contain different degree of sustainable material. It is designed to be a training shoe around, and that is precisely why I put it to the test in various activities.
After placing the impact of the Hylo Athletics through daily training runs on treadmills, roads and even some classes in my local Hyrox Training Club, this shoe quickly became a strong competition for my new daily trainer.
- Wide feet: Really size with a standard width fit that offers the natural foot shape without being too wide, But does not come in large sizes.
- Heavier runners: Offers excellent stability and moderate support for daily training, although heavier runners may want extra support for longer efforts.
- Long runs: We can fix them on 6 -10 miles of training, depending on your cushion needs.
- Front of the package: Responsive enough for moderate tempo work and pace efforts, but lacks the propulsion technology of racing shoes.
This shoe is great for runners who want a versatile daily trainer who can handle everything, from simple recovery runs to moderate training sessions.
Hylo Athletics Impact Overview
The Hylo Athletics brand distinguishes itself for their dedication to combine environmental responsibility and performance. Because 90% of our shoes end up in landfills, Hylo even has a recycling program, Hyloop ™. Just scan the tongue of your Hylos when you’re done with them to start!
The moment you get into the impact, you notice that the insole feels like a pillow top mattress for your feet. But despite this plush initial feeling, I think that the mid -sole technology prevents sinking sensation that usually disturbs me in heavily muted shoes. This insole also has a bio -based foam as one of the components.
I would describe it as “stable plush” – you get significant damping and joint protection, but with sufficient responsiveness to maintain your pace.
As someone who goes to the responsive feeling of On Cloud MonsterI have never found a Gedempte Shoe that could meet my responsiveness standards. The impact succeeds in offering a substantial cushioning and to keep it at the same time I have been busy during my run … because when I zinc, the desire to stop running is just too great!
The technology “Treadlight Outsole” is great to offer traction while I go the summers of Rainy North Carolina. We are a Formula 1 watch family, so the Formula 1-inspired tread patterns were intriguing and effective! They offer a great traction over different road surfaces.
Although there is no prominent rocker like some of my other favorite shoes, this improves the versatility of the shoe for cross-training activities. I felt comfortable to wear it to a total body training class!
After having worn this for multiple weekly running clubs, speed training, hill training and a few hyrox lessons, I can say with confidence that they are sustainable! There has been some small blur on the letters on the insole, but that happens with every shoe – especially when we swing to the sizzling summers in North Carolina!
Hylo Atletics Impact -specifications
Hylo is currently unisex format. This is not always our favorite because we find a different need, especially in the heel for female athletes. But this shoe still won our tester.
The aesthetic attraction of the impact really struck me the moment I opened the box. The unique tread pattern inspired by Formula 1 tires is not only functional – it is really attractive, especially with the slogan “Run as its world depends on”.
The general design feels modern and clean, so that these shoes I like to wear, both for training and informal activities.
Hylo Atletics Impact Fit
The impact fits in the size – I wore my standard size 7.5 and thought the fit was perfect.
The bio-based nylon-upwerk has a comfortable, safe feeling without being restrictive. The flat laces (my preference) delivered an excellent lockdown potential.
The tongue is bubbling and adheres to the upper roughly halfway the tongue. A detail that I appreciated was the tongue thickness – at about 5 mm filling (again, I measured!), It was not too large.
The upper material (A nylon -based nylon derived from ricinus beans!) An impressive balance between protection and breathing, Although I noticed that it can be a bit hot during runs – Something to consider for training for warm weather.
I have never experienced a heel or movement during runs. The TOEBOX offers enough space without feeling oversized (but it is worth mentioning that I have a normal width foot and am used to a narrower Teenbox!).
Similar shoes such as the impact of the Hylo Athletics
I have tested a few that feel similar, but otherwise based on the Fit of the brand:
- On cloud surfing – Similar versatility and comfort, but with a more pronounced rocker feeling and slightly less damping
- Asics Gel Nimbus – more traditional maximum damping approach but heavier and less responsive than the impact
- Hoka Lead – Nice pillow with light stability
77%
It successfully bridges the gap between plush comfort and responsive training, making it an excellent choice for runners (like me!) Wanting that versatility. If sustainability is important to you, but you refuse to sacrifice performance, the impact is proven that you do not have to choose between the two.
