Knitting and doing other things with your hands is often very boring. I follow a lot of knitting accounts on Instagram and the expression can be very… optimistic. Cheerful? The girls work on project after project and everything looks perfect.

For me it is largely a tedious, arduous and laborious process. It takes time! It must take time. Spending those hours testing myself, refurbishing and redoing them is the investment I make to obtain a garment made of fine material with high affective value. Sometimes it doesn’t come out so smooth or neat, but I still feel strongly about my crooked garments.

At the moment I am working on an adjustment of my daughter’s first shirt, the pattern has Julia Backman written. Free to download! I’ve probably made five of these for both my kids and other people’s kids. This one is made from mixed heritage and racing leftover yarn, nice with a striped effect I think.

My child has grown and the sweater was a little torn, so I scratched it open at the bottom to lengthen the torso and make a new cuff. I feel so capable!! Mother repairs.

The sweater is probably ready to be discarded soon.

Then I will post a very nice test knitting Mitzo in this beautiful cool pink wool and alpaca yarn! It is Lang Yarns Carpe Diem (Advertised for yarn and pattern received for test knitting). I love alpaca, it is light and smooth and falls beautifully.

Are you holding anything with your hands right now? Hug
