West Ham United has now officially confirmed the signing of former Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson.
Newcastle had announced the departure of Callum Wilson in July, after five years in St James’ Park. The number 9 that came at the end of his NUFC contract and is reportedly rejecting a wage while playing a short-term agreement.
The official announcement of West Ham (see below) contains quotes from Callum Wilson, the new signing statement;
“I am excited to become a member of a huge football club such as West Ham. A club that shares a similar passion like mine, hard work, dedication and I also strive for success, so I am happy to be part of it.”
I think West Ham looks good for Callum Wilson and good luck for him, he really did well for NUFC and, like his other contributions, his 18 Premier League goals in the 2022/23 season were the key to Newcastle that finished fourth and qualified for the Champions League.
I have seen and heard a number of Newcastle fans who predicts the 33 -year -old Callum Wilson, will now no doubt stay fit with West Ham, never miss a single game or day of training, while all Newcastle United Strikers in the 2025/26 season are outdated.
With now only 13 days until Newcastle United starts in the Premier League, Eddie Howe will hope for a ‘small’ bit of clarity as soon as possible about which striker (s) he will have available to him this coming season.

Wilson, born in Coventry in the West Midlands, acted as a schoolboy’s hometown club and made his senior debut at the age of 17. After loan spells in local clubs Kettering Town and Tamworth, he announced himself with 22 goals for the Sky Blues and a place in the EFL League One team of the season in 2013/14 and Bournemouth at the Season’s End.
Wilson’s first campaign saw him end as the most important scorer of the Cherries with 20 championship goals and promotion to the Premier League. There, in August 2015, he scored a hat trick on West Ham on just his third top-flight performance. In 2018 he yielded his debut in England against the United States.
After having scored 67 goals for six seasons in Dorset, Wilson moved to the north to Newcastle in September 2020. He regularly scored for the Magpies, including a Premier League single-season High of 18 in 2022/23-one season that also saw him travel to the FIFA World Cup final in Qatar with England.
In total, Wilson has 143 goals and 49 assists in 401 senior performances for Club and Country. In the Premier League he is directly involved in a goal that is scored every 143 minutes that he is on the field.
The experienced striker is the third signing of the club of the summer transfer window after El Hadji Malick Diouf and Kyle Walker-Peters.
Everyone at West Ham United wants to welcome Callum and his family to the club and wish him every success in Claret and Blue.
