Hyundai says the instrument cluster display may malfunction due to software bugs.
Hyundai says the instrument cluster display may suddenly restart while driving and cause a temporary blank screen due to electrical noise.
A faulty instrument cluster display can disable gauges such as the fuel gauge, speedometer and important safety messages.
According to Hyundai engineers:
“Electrical noise within the PMIC processor can result in erratic detection of system operating temperature, triggering the thermal protection function and restarting the IP cluster.”
In September 2025, a Korean investigation was opened due to problems with the instrument panel display while driving. Hyundai learned that a new Tier 2 supplier was involved and supplied new chipsets that could cause electrical noise. The noise can cause a temperature sensor to activate a thermal protection circuit that restarts the displays.
Hyundai’s instrument cluster recall letters are expected to be mailed on March 27, 2026. The instrument cluster software will be updated over the air or by dealers.
Owners can contact Hyundai at 855-371-9460. Hyundai’s instrument cluster recall number is 293.
