Cole HutsonNational Rookie of the Year of last season, first team All-American and Beanpot MVP, spoke with NHL.com Senior writer Tom Gulitti about his goals for the coming season and when he might be pro with the capitals.
Although Lane played two seasons at BU before he became a professional in 2024, Cole said it was not put in stone that he will do the same.
“A big reason why I go back to school, I want to win a national championship,” said Cole. “I want to graduate, make my mother happy. I am not in a hurry to go everywhere. You can’t get worse to play lecture -hockey. I’m just going to enjoy the moment, and if it’s two or three years old, I’m fine with that.”
Washington selected Hutson in the second round (#43 General) of the NHL entry in 2024.

Coming on board as a graduate transfer is goalkeeper Michelle PasieechnykWho completed an excellent four -year career at Clarkson, where she had a 1.58 GAA, .935 SV%and 21 shutouts. In 2023-24 she was named NCAA D1 goalkeeper of the year and a second team All-American with a 1.34 GAA and a .945 savings percentage. After her senior season with the Golden Knights, Pasieechnyk left hockey with the Golden Knights and now returns as a terrier.

Ava McDermid has committed herself to BU Women’s Hockey, she announced on Instagram.
The defender born in 2009 plays for Kelowna Under-18 PrEP team of Rink Hockey Academy. Last season, McDermid registered 21 points in 30 games.
