Hurston Waldrep and Bullpen steal the show in Win against White Sox

4 minutes, 32 seconds Read

After both teams were exploded in the previous two games, the Atlanta Braves took up the Chicago White Sox hoping to take the series.

Based on the previous two games, and both teams with some of the most popular violations in MLB, that this game would be a high scoring. Instead, we have a pitched game and one of the fastest competitions throughout the season.

Hurston Waldrrep took the hill for the Braves after throwing 17.2 innings of 1.02 ERA Ball this season. The very first Slagman with which he was confronted, Michael Tauchman distracted the game with a single that bumped from Ozzie Albies. You would think that this might not be a good sign, but that was not the case. The next batter was based on a doubles. Waldrep then took his only walk from all night when he walked Kyle Teel. The walk did not return to chase Waldrep because he could get SOSA to land.

The turn of the Braves with the bats were about the same as the White Sox. Apart from a Ronald Acuña Jr. They could not cause any insult to Martín Pérez. Waldrep looked solid in the second inning. Luis Robert had a hard -struck lining for an exterior of him, but he also produced a soft line and his first seven seven in the night against Benintendi.

The Braves were only able to produce the minimum number of batters, with one of the most popular batters on the planet, Michael Harris II who came out. Waldrep again gave up a lead -off single in the third inning, but followed it again. Forced guidp after beating Curtis Mead.

It seemed that the Braves might have been going on when Nacho Alvarez finished the bottom of the third with a single, but shocker alert, he could not move during a nick all bump attempt. Profar then turned out and then Matt Olson appeared in error territory.

Waldrep was clearly in the zone, not meant playing puncture, in the fourth inning. After he forced a land, he outdoed Teel and Sosa. Fun fact, he took Sosa out while he threw three splitters for strikes. Before this competition he had a touch of 54.2 percent at that pitch. The Braves were finally able to form a point in the fourth, even if it was a bit of help from the White SOX defense. Acuña was out, but then Ozuna definitely smoked one in the left field line on a ball that came 107.5 mph from the bat. He was then moved by a Harris Groundout. Ozzie Albies hit a helicopter in the middle and Montgomery floated it and could not make the game that Ozuna scored to make the score 1-0 Braves. Murphy then turned out.

Waldrrep was again locked up in the fifth. He grabbed two strikeouts, and although he gave up Robert, Murphy had his back and shot him and tried to steal second. The Braves were again closed to only the minimal batters in the bottom of the fifth. Almost a rarity in this series, but not tonight.

Waldrep remained in to pitch the sixth, which turned out to be a wise choice. A single was the only baserunner he gave up. In the bottom of the sixth, after Matt Olson was three, Jordan Lasure came to throw in the game. This turned out to be the right choice for the White Sox when he sat down for the next two batters.

Waldrep kept cruising in the seventh. He sat down all three Hitters and grabbed a strikeout to Sosa, making it his seventh of the night. Waldrep completed his night with 7.0 innings, and gave Zero earned runs, while he only surrendered four hits (all singles) and one walk while he hit seven. We will take such trips every day. The bats of the Braves were again silenced. This time against Mike Vasil. No basic runner in the seventh.

Pierce Johnson came in to pitch the eighth. He was able to produce a one-two-tax inning while he picked up a strikeout on the way. It seemed that the Braves was able to place at least one when Alvarez had his second single of the game and was then moved to second place after an all -strikeout and a Profar -groundoutout, but after a pitching change, Matt Olson hit CF where Robert Jr. made a sliding game to end the inning.

Raisel Iglesias came into play for the One-Run Save opportunity. Iglesias is lights since the All-Star Break, so there was no reason to believe that that would change now. Edgar Quero came in to let Hit for Curtis Mead and Iglesias land to Albies. Tauchman then came to hit and got one of one that flew 358.0 feet, but Acuña was able to play on it. Iglesias then hit VARGAS on three pitches to switch on the rescue and to lower his season era to 3.86. To reference, his ERA 5.12 was as recently as nineteen from July.

The Braves attack was not beautiful tonight. In half of their innings they only brought the minimum number of batters on the record and scored their only point on an error, but it was enough to win the victory on a night in which Hurston Waldrep and the Bullpen stole the show.

The next game is at home against the Mets at 7:15 AM on Friday.
