Unfortunately it was not all rosy that afternoon, with winger Mohamed Belloumi forced shortly before the break. The concern was quickly discussed, since it was his first competitive start since the recovery of the ACL injury of last season.

But now it is confirmed that the Hull City Livewire has a different extensive spell.

Hull Live Reports that Belloumi has damaged his hamstring, and it will omit him between six and eight weeks. It may mean that he is set aside until after the international break of November, but the time will tell how his recovery goes.

Belloumi had come from the couch against Blackburn Rovers, Bristol City and Swansea City before his start against the saints. He also played an hour in the Premier League Cup for the U21s of HCAFC, which supplied a brace in a 5-1 win over the youngsters of Birmingham City.

A frustrating blow to Hull City and Mohamed Belloumi

Unfortunately, such setbacks are common when players come back from long -term injuries. Even if setbacks in their rehabilitation are avoided, the return to high intensity, competitive action when the body is not used to, can lead to new problems.

That seems to have been the case with Belloumi, so he and the relevant staff of Hull City will have to carefully navigate this recovery and his comeback.

Belloumi looked like an exciting talent and a real threat to HCAFC if available. As such, his starting XI communion was something that many were looking forward to.

Unfortunately, he is now confronted with a further spell, causing his development.

Who will start Sergej Jakirovic in his absence?

Jakirovic played early with a pretty flexible attack, with his versatile attackers so that he can shake things in mid-game. Some may start on one flank, but shift to another, or one of the broad men can be central to play Talisman McBurnie.

For the most part, Joe Gelhardt and David Akintola were used on the wings by Jakirovic. The boss of Hull City, however, has other options.

Kasey Palmer can play on flank or through the middle, while Joel Ndala is also used on the right.

That said, it seems most likely that one Van Gelhardt or Akintola on the right is used in the absence of Belloumi. All eyes will be focused on who will get the wink against Watford this weekend.
