“There won’t be a more popular racing victory in New Zealand this month, I don’t think,” said commentator Matt Cross at the end of his commentary.
Driver and good buddy Craig Ferguson managed to push Clotilde Wainwright (Majestic son) early across the field. She was soon in front and went to the line to win by five and a half lengths from Freya (Volstead)) with Pyramid Rose (Majestic son) finishing third a length and three quarters back.
CLOTILDE WAINWRIGHT REPEAT
“She went absolutely great. All credit to her. She trotted perfectly and we managed to get a great run. I thought I would like to stay ahead of the better if I could. She absolutely jogged that. I’m sure that will cheer Nat up a little bit,” said Ferguson.

Owned by Williamson along with his parents-in-law Robyn and Ross Jones, Barry Dent, Graham Dent and Kirstin Mitchener, the win was Clotilde Wainwright’s fourth in just ten starts.

She is out of the eight-time winning Armbro Invasion mare Poppymalda who Williamson also trained.
