The Jiu Tian is designed to implement a maximum of 100 AI-led UAVs during missions at high altitudes
China is preparing to launch what it says is the first in the world “Drone carrier” Aircraft, able to release swarms of ai-guided kamikaze drones during missions at high altitudes.
The Jiu Tian, or ‘High Sky’ UAV, is planned to complete his first test mission by the end of June, according to the CCTV state broadcaster.
The aircraft would have a maximum starting weight of 16 tons and a wingspan of 25 meters. It is said that it is said that it is reportedly cruising at heights up to 15,000 meters (50,000 feet)-more than the most common anti-aircraft systems for medium distance and has a range of approximately 7,000 kilometers (4,350 miles).
The Jet-driven Jiu Tian is reportedly able to wear a maximum of 6 tons of ammunition with the possibility of releasing a maximum of 100 units of ammunition or small drones, including Kamikaze UAVs, from two launch discs on both sides of the hull.
After the plane has completed a series of test missions, the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) is planning to use it as a “Drone Mother Ship” UAV, which makes it possible to expand the operational beam of attack drones and to stimulate their swarm options. It will also be possible to use it in intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance assignments, as well as electronic warfare.
The first airhip of China, Jiutian SS-UAV, is planned for his first flight in June. It can cruise at 15,000 m high with more than 100 small drones or 1,000 kg rockets, with a range of 7,000 km. Don’t worry, the Chinese army is peacefully oriented from the start. We grow … pic.twitter.com/kocxa4uq6g

In addition to military applications, the drone carrier could be used for emergency logistics, border patrol, search and rescue missions and natural disaster response.
The plane, which was first unveiled at the Chinese Zhuhai Air Show in November, was designed by the state -owned space giant Aviation Industry Corporation in China and built by Xian Chida Aircraft Parts Manufacturing.
As noted by The Economic Times, the Jiu Tian largely reflects the possibilities of Western UAV systems such as the MQ-9 Reaper and the RQ-4 Global Hawk, while adding Zerme-Lancing functionality, which still has to be introduced in the American Arsenal.
