Howe supports Newcastle who signs to ‘score goals’

Eddie Howe has supported Nick Woltemade to score goals for Newcastle United, but has insisted that his side needs offer a better service.

Woltemade marked his debut in Newcastle with a goal in the 1-0 win over Wolves earlier this month, but ended a frustrating afternoon in Bournemouth on Sunday.

The German failed to register a single attempt on the goal on the south coast and completed only one of his three dribbles. The scoreless draw was the third consecutive stalemate of Newcastle in Way matches this season.

Despite the draw, Howe said that he saw many Positive Woltemade. Speaking prior to the Carabao Cup -Stropdas of tomorrow with Bradford City, he said Newcastle should improve the service on the summer drawing.

“I thought he generally had a decent game. Some of his link in the build -up was really good. He was a central point that we needed and enabled us to get higher on the field. As a team we did not work particularly well in the attacking half. It is impossible to deny that we did not create any opportunities for him.

As a center-forward you are dependent on that service and we have not given it enough. We have to take responsibility for that and try to work to put it right, but I see no reason why we will not score any goals. “
