Just about every company with a product used on the PGA Tour has a tourist representative responsible for getting that product in the hand of a player.
Some are more known, such as those for the large OEMs such as Callaway, Ping, Taylormade and Titleist, working on calling their staff players for the golf clubs. But there are also repetitions such as Charles Woodward, who wears seven different brands on the PGA Tour, from softspikes to bushnell riding children, and he has been doing it for two decades now.
In this week’s episode of Golf, Woodward looked back on his time on the PGA Tour and revealed what has changed most on his job.
“I think the biggest change is probably the number of team members that players have with them,” said Woodward. “When I came out for the first time, there was really no one who used launching monitors. I mean, maybe a little trackman, but it was a very slow process.
‘And then you might see a swing coach here or there, but I mean, guys 1757103390 Have their managers, they have a swing coach, mental coach. It is really remarkable. And even the way things are treated behind the scenes with how equipment companies deal with players, and the different repetitions of different companies have also changed. “
Woodward said that if players now test shafts, a representative of the shaft company will deliver the shaft, but it is the repetitions of the OEM and the rest of the entourage of the player who will handle the test process.
