But before that, the Dodgers have two key dates leading up to spring training. Pitchers and catchers will report to Camelback Ranch on February 13 for their first practice of the new season, and the rest of the team will have their first practice on February 17.
This year’s team still features many of the core members from their 2025 World Series victory over the Toronto Blue Jays, but there will be a few new faces in attendance this year.
All-Stars Kyle Tucker and Edwin Diaz are the two biggest names set to wear Dodger blue for the first time this season, and fans will certainly get their first look at the duo during spring training.
But besides them, several players are still vying for a roster spot and looking to have a real shot at the big leagues.
Who can make the Dodgers’ Opening Day roster?
Several players from last season are vying for a roster spot, most notably Alex Freeland and Hyeseong Kim, who are the most likely candidates to fill the hole at second base if Tommy Edman misses the start of the season.
Additionally, Ryan Ward is looking for a spot on the team after his electric performance in Triple-A last season. Ward is unlikely to win a starting role after Tucker’s arrival, as Andy Pages and Teoscar Hernandez are unlikely to lose their places in the spring.
On top of these three, the bullpen is wide open, with several spots up for grabs. Players like Ben Casparius, Will Klein, Justin Wrobleski and more will battle to find themselves on pen come Opening Day. Additionally, the starting rotation could see some new faces with the additions of River Ryan and Gavin Stone, who are set to return from season-ending injuries.
With just 26 days left until spring training, the Dodgers have plenty to think about before the start of the 2026 regular season and their title defense.
