Junnel Sinajon may not have been born in Townsville, but he is now a confirmed local, builds his first home in the NQ capital and proudly explains his loyalty to the cowboys and the Maroons.

Dr. Sinajon came to Townsville about 10 years ago and fell in love with the community and lifestyle.

“I came from a tropical country, the Philippines and Townsville has similar to home,” he said.

“I completed a nursing diploma at JCU and went back to Arts.

“I received a number of vacancies from the Gold Coast, Brisbane and even Coffs Harbor in NSW, but I wanted to stay in Townsville.

“It is very relaxing here and the lifestyle is good.”

Dr. Sinajon said he loved that Townsville had the most services and facilities of a large city and a multicultural community.

“You can connect to people with all different backgrounds,” he said.

“I am the kind of person who goes to restaurants, pubs and clubs, and Townsville has so much to offer in that aspect.

“You can enjoy the strand, walk and drink a coffee in front of the beach and even go to Magnetic Island easily.”

Dr. Sinajon said he was now also a proud NQ Cowboys and Maroons supporter.

“When I worked in the Townsville Hospital, everyone would wear chestnut brown for the state of origin,” he said.

“I didn’t really understand the game … but I knew Queensland was the best.”

The new MCG lifestyle index with four Pillary Lifestyle confirmed that the estimate of Dr. Sinajon Townsville is a lifestyle-jewel, which ranked the NQ region as the sixth best real estate market in the country for lifestyle and potential price growth.

Townsville also had the lowest median house price on the list.

Dr. Sinajon has used the affordable real estate market of Townsville, buying a block of land on the Somers & Hervey estate in Rasmussen and involving the local Keir structures to build his new house.

“We compared other estates, but Somers and Hervey really caught our attention,” he said.

“As soon as we have found a lot, we have paid a down payment.

“The plate has just been cast – it is very exciting.”
