How Altair’s AI substance companies helps to go beyond pilot projects

Artificial intelligence is no longer limited to experiments in laboratories or one -off pilot projects. For many companies it becomes the backbone of how they work, innovate and compete. But while companies racing to use AI, the biggest challenge is not whether the technology works, but whether the basis exists to scale it safely and effectively.

In this episode of Tech Talks Daily I am accompanied by Christian Buckner, Senior Vice President of Data and AI platform at Altair, a company that is known for combining Rocket Science with Data Science. Christian takes out the concept of an AI substance, a framework that harmonizes company data and enters AI directly in a universal model. Christian shares examples, including a transport company that has increased sales by $ 50 million in the first year of AI-driven dynamic prices and a healthcare provider that saved $ 17 million in analysis time using knowledge graphs for discovering medicines.

The conversation also investigates the hype and the risks surrounding AI agents. Although it is easy to split a proof of concept with a Python library, Christian explains why real Enterprise -Impact Governance, monitoring and infrastructure requires to make agents reliable and sustainable. He compares it with building HR systems for AI, where agents need onboarding, supervision and performance -evaluation to work in addition to people.

We also touch the Acquisition of Altair by Siemens and what this means for the future of industrial AI. The result is not about replacing employees, but so they can become what Christian calls “10x employees”, supplemented with AI tools and agents who multiply their effectiveness.
