An award-winning executive home is for sale in Zuccoli, featuring an air-conditioned workshop, contemporary style and feng shui design.

The four-bedroom property at 50 Whitegum Cres was built by Beare Homes and won the Best Project Home award at the Master Builders NT in 2023.

The owner said he and his wife designed the property to be spacious, low-maintenance and in accordance with feng shui principles.

“My wife is Chinese, so feng shui plays a big role in the house,” he said.

“We designed a large reception area at the front of the house, because in Chinese culture you might invite people into the house, but you don’t have to come all the way inside.

“There is also space under the built-in cupboards (in the reception room) to store shoes, because you don’t wear shoes in the house.”

The owner said feng shui also played a role in the design of the living space.

“You can’t have a sofa with nothing behind it, so we put a wall in the living room with wood and the wood on top,” he said.

“That also pushes the air conditioning out of the living area through the passage to the bedrooms.”

The property sits on a 512 sqm block and has a double garage with tiled floor, leading to a mudroom with washing station and storage.

“When you come home from gardening, you have to clean up in there,” the owner said.

The front door opens into a spacious entrance hall with built-in storage and there is a separate bedroom at the front of the house, ideal as a study or guest room.

The internal laundry room is also located at the front of the house and opens onto the veranda.

The central focal point of the house is the open plan living, dining and kitchen area, which opens onto the veranda via sliding doors.

The kitchen has a marble-look wall, stone worktops, a peninsula bench with breakfast bar and a large walk-in pantry with built-in cupboards.

A luxurious master suite has a wall of built-in wardrobes and an ensuite with separate toilet, double sink and double shower.

The remaining bedrooms have built-in bathrobes, while the family bathroom has a bath, shower, separate toilet and double sinks.

Outside, the veranda has a built-in barbecue with extractor hood, tiled floors, fans and electronic blinds to keep out the afternoon sun.

At the back of the house, but still under the roofline, there is a built-in workshop with air conditioning, roller door and fans.

The property has a lawn, landscaped gardens and a concrete area next to the workshop.

“Outside is low maintenance,” the owner said.

“Mowing the lawn only takes me about 20 minutes, including trimming the edges.”

The house is close to parks, a daycare center, primary schools and basketball courts.

There is a local IGA, community shops and a dog park, while the Palmerston CBD is a five-minute drive away.
