Hot and Cold Devy Prospects – Dynasty League Football

Hot and Cold Devy Prospects – Dynasty League Football

7 minutes, 58 seconds Read

The fantasy football stock market is constantly fluctuating, and it is always important for us to know which players have a price that has become exploitable, whether to buy or sell. Pieces like this have been quite common in the industry for a while now, in both redesign and dynasty formats. However, I will focus on college players for Dev Dynasty leagues and how their week-to-week performance affects their prizes in those leagues.

Is called

Darian Mensah, QB Duke to Miami

So let’s start with the man who may have broken the Transfer Portal. Leaving Duke for a report A sum of $10 million and a lot of other benefitshe’s emerging as the next QB in Miami as Carson Beck heads to the NFL. On a team loaded with top talent throughout the offense, Mensah has a chance to return the Hurricanes to the College Football Playoffs and make another run at the CFP Championship.

Mensah showed elite decision-making at Duke in 2025, throwing 34 passing touchdowns against just six interceptions and throwing for 3,973 passing yards. He operates well inside the pocket and can handle defensive pressure like a much more experienced QB. At 6-foot-4 and weighing about 200 pounds, he needs to hit the weight room hard to put on some more muscle mass. He is elite in ball placement and accuracy at all levels. His deep ball consistency needs some refinement, but with his move from Tulane to Duke showing major improvement, it seems like something Mensah will improve with strength and training. Highly intelligent player who accurately diagnoses defenses and exploits matchups.

Pronunciation: Buy. Like Miami, I will try to do everything I can to acquire Mensah. Look for him to climb the rankings in the next season or two, if he hasn’t already. It’s easy to imagine him as a first-round QB when he declares.

Deuce Knight, QB Auburn at Ole Miss

Last month it was Trinidad Chambliss who led the Ole Miss Rebels to a mutual struggle playing away from possible progression to the championship. Knight is an elite athlete at the QB position. It was reported that he had a 4.53 second 40 yard dash as a junior in high school with a vertical jump of 41.9 inches while he measured about six feet tall and weighed about 215 pounds. His frame has room for more muscle power. Knight is a developmental dream with his athletic skills and frame, with a high ceiling that could make a difference if his accuracy can improve. His decision making is also still raw, as he relies on his physical skills to make a play rather than working through his progressions. If the coaching staff can work with Knight on progressing his reading drills, he can really take advantage of the raw talent that is there. left-handed QB, he does well rolling to the left.

Pronunciation: Buy. Knight is incredibly raw. The owner is probably very excited about the move to Ole Miss. Just wait until the price drops. I wouldn’t sell it all, as Knight’s floor and ceiling are very wide if his skills don’t develop in the passing game.

Hollywood Smothers, RB NC State to Texas

Smothers is moving from the Wolfpack to the Longhorns after it initially appeared he would be heading to Alabama. But when Ty Simpson and other parts of the Crimson Tide left for the NFL, Smothers switched to play with Archie Manning and the rest of the Texas offense. At 6-foot-4 and 195 pounds, he’s a bit slender, but is known for excellent vision that complements an elite burst that takes advantage of every running lane that presents itself.

In 2025, Smothers averaged 5.9 yards per carry. Smothers began his college career in 2023 at Oklahoma before transferring to North Carolina State the past two years. He has yet to surpass 1,000 rushing yards in a season or rack up double-digit touchdowns. Has a fluid running style and, for his size, has strong contact balance after contact. Looking at Smothers, he has great acceleration, but he doesn’t seem to have top speed.

Pronunciation: Delay. I’m concerned that Smother hasn’t hit some of the elite numbers of other backs. If you can get him cheap, make the move, but if I own Smothers, it’s a good time to hold on and see what he does when he goes to Texas.

Cold

Judge Haynes, RB Michigan at Georgia Tech

Haynes was once one of the top RB prospects of the 2023 recruiting class when he enrolled at Alabama. After two quiet seasons as part of the Crimson Tide, he transferred to Michigan to play for the Wolverines in 2025. Haynes has the classic size and frame you traditionally like to see at around 6-foot-4 and 210 pounds. Unlike Smothers, Haynes has the frame to take and dish out punishment at the next level.

Before 2025 at Michigan, he left games on the field and almost seemed to have lost some confidence as he played hesitantly. Things really seemed to be coming together in 2025 after a poor Michigan offense until a foot injury ruined his season. He worked through weapon tackles and ran downhill. His vision had improved and he showed patience in allowing lanes and blocks to be set up. Haynes has 30 total receptions in his career and probably won’t impress anyone as much as Christian McCaffrey.

Pronunciation: Buy, Haynes feels like a solid round two or three RB next season if he stays healthy. Splitting the Georgia Tech backfield with Malachi Hosley should help him stay healthy and put out good tape for the 2027 NFL Draft.

Cam Coleman, WR Auburn to Texas

One of the top WR prospects coming out of high school, Coleman transferred from Auburn to play with Manning at Texas. Coleman looks like a future star WR, standing 6-foot-4 and weighing around 200 pounds. He has the explosive, fast-twitch muscles to get to the top of a defense and the resilience to win above the rim. He continues to evolve from a physical, raw playmaker to a more refined route runner.

Coleman has yet to turn 20 years old and won’t do so until August of this year. With Coleman and Ryan Wingo catching passes from Manning, the Longhorns offense should produce one of the most explosive offenses this season. In high school, Coleman would be a sub 4.5 second 40 yard dash, 4.19 short shuttle, and 10’8β€³ broad jump. With his speed, Coleman quickly stacks corners and develops more as a route runner to keep defensive backs off balance. Concentration drops are a plague for Coleman, where he will make a huge catch but abandon the routine.

Pronunciation: Buy. Cam Coleman hasn’t hit major stats like some of his peers and hasn’t racked up 1,000 yards or double-digit touchdowns yet. Look for this to change in 2026 with Manning.

Dylan Raiola, Nebraska QB to Oregon

Once ranked as the No. 2 QB of the 2024 recruiting class behind DJ Lagway as a five-star recruit and ranked seventh overall in the country. Many are annoyed by Raiola’s antics, and he has not ascended as many thought he would. At Nebraska his freshman season, he had 13 touchdowns with 11 interceptions and 2,819 passing yards. Last year, as a sophomore, he compiled better stats until a broken fibula against USC ended his season in Week 10.

If he transfers to Oregon, he will sit behind Dante Moore, who decided to stay in Eugene for another season. Throws receivers open and has elite arm talent, making it look effortless. Has one of the best deep balls in the game and makes throws to all levels of the field. His legs are not a big part of his game and his timing routes need refinement. How will NFL teams view the constant transfers and his behavior at the next level?

Pronunciation: Buy. Raiola is very polarizing, but he is still a very talented QB. While it passes and sits for a year, see if you can get it cheap from an owner.
