The Charlotte Hornets have signed Free Agent Forward Keyontae Johnson, the team announced Thursday, after the opening of a place earlier in the day by refraining from Daquan Jeffries.

While Jeffries was signed by the 2026-27 season, his three-year contract was not guaranteed for this season and the next one. His $ 2.74 million salary for 2025-26 would be completely guaranteed if he had stayed on the Roster until January 10.
Details of Johnson’s agreement have not been unveiled, but it is probably a non-goded exhibition 10 contract, which makes Johnson eligible for a bonus with a value of a maximum of $ 85,300 if he is abandoned by Charlotte and then spends at least 60 days with the team’s g-competition, the affiliate of the team, the Greensboro Zwerm.
De Zwerm has already had the recurring rights of Johnson since he spent last season with the G League team.
In 46 games for Greensboro he had an average of 16.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 30.5 minutes per match while he shot 49.3% and 37.5% from 3-point area.

Hornets have a full 21-man selection
With Johnson who replaces Jeffries, the Hornets now have a complete 21-man selection.
