Priscilla Hon is expected to make her top 100 debut in the next release of the WTA ranking after she won her first WTA 1000-level Main-Draw competition in China.

Priscilla Hon seems ready to be the newest Australian who participated in the WTA Top 100 after another striking breakthrough profit in Beijing.
The talented 27-year-old continued her excellent year on Wednesday and won her first round match in the China Open with a 1-6 6-3 7-6 (4) victory over experienced Swiss left-hand host Viktorija Golubic.
Staring at the defeat, after she had fallen 4-1 in a decisive tiebreak, the Queenslander took six points in a row to win the victory against the world No. 70, which arranged 38 places above her in the WTA ranking list.
But the victory, its first at a WTA 1000 event, now seems ready to raise Hon to the top 100 in the world for the first time, and brings her 11 places to World No.97 in the provisional ranking.
Even if she does not continue in Beijing, with Jelena Ostapenko who presents a formidable obstacle for the last 64, there could still be five Australian women in the top 100 alongside Daria Kasatkina, Maya Joint, Kimberly Birrell and Ajla Tomljanovic when the WTA ranges are updated.

The great year of HON included the qualification for Wimbledon for the first time, and qualified at the US Open to reach the third round, emphasized by a win over no.17 Seed Liudmila Samsonova for the greatest victory of her career, by ranking.
But it seems to be in Asia where Hon, the daughter of Chinese parents who emigrated from Hong Kong to Australia to Australia a few years before she was born, seems to be the most thriving, because nine of her 15 victories on the continent have taken place on the continent.
In other opening round matches in Beijing, Maddison Inglis 7-5 7-6 (7) collapsed in a tight match with Polina Kudermetova, while Birrell 6-3 7-6 (1) lost to Latvia Anastasija Svastova.
