House auction weekends continue to see a strong turnout of buyers and sellers in the first week of December, with dozens of Queensland’s hottest properties set to attend before the end of 2025.

There were 10 registered bidders at the auction for 10 Burn St, Camp Hill, which was in such high demand that six remained active during the fierce bidding war.

Investors, developers and owner-occupiers each made up about a third of the demographic group looking for the house: a post-war home on 500 m² of land.

10 Burn St, Camp Hill – one of many properties still seeing strong auction attendance at the end of the year.

The rental property was valued as a turnkey home in a popular suburb, a source of passive income and an opportunity for new housing opportunities on the existing land.

Place Camp Hill agent Shane Hicks’ bidding was “very aggressive,” starting from a starting bid of $1.1 million and quickly rising by several hundred thousand dollars.

“It’s in a part of the suburb that’s seeing a lot of redevelopment,” he said. “It’s a combination of post-war houses like this… and a lot of areas where these houses are being demolished to make a five-bedroom house with a pool.”

The house sold for $1.49 million amid intense competition from investors, owner-occupiers and developers, all of whom felt it was a perfect opportunity.

The house was sold for $1.49 million to a young investor who was considering future redevelopment after seeing that the property’s value had increased during the tenure of the last owners.

Camp Hill was an active suburb over the weekend, with four of the five registered houses actively bidding on the house at 13 Brisbane Ave.

“Four of those bidders had seen it three weeks earlier at the very first open house,” Mr. Hicks said, “but the actual fifth bidder, who was the eventual buyer, had never seen it before.”

13 Brisbane Ave, Camp Hill, which sold for $2.4 million to a buyer who had only seen it that day.

An opening bid from the fifth bidder started the auction at $2 million, with the house’s price rocketing to $2.4 million within minutes.

After negotiations, the house was sold to a professional couple for $2.5 million.

“They live in an apartment downtown and have a dog,” Hicks said. “The dog was one of the reasons for their move… they wanted space for their pet.”

Mr Hicks added that he felt he was still seeing a very active rental market in the city, despite many people taking their Christmas holidays.

“I think a lot of people are saying that real estate is over for the past year, and that’s not the case,” he said. “There are still a lot of very active buyers.”

1 Timbertop St, Buderim, was Queensland’s most viewed property to be auctioned in the first weekend of December.

The most watched Queensland property auctioned online this weekend was 1 Timbertop Street, Buderim, with a crowd of more than 70 people to watch the six registered bidders battle it out for the Sunshine Coast home.

With a bid of $1.1 million, the quick auction between three active bidders started, moving so quickly that the whole thing was over before ten minutes had passed.

Ray White Buderim agent Brodie Rodgers said the house belonged to a downsizing couple who had owned it for 22 years, and more than 100 people attended inspections during the three-week campaign.

With 1,051 m² of land, a sea of large purchasing families seemed to want to acquire the property, which was sold for 1,527 million dollars.

“It just had the makings of everyone,” he said, pointing to the property’s 1,051 square meters of land. “All the buyers who fought for it had a lot of vehicles.”

After bidding began, the house was quickly put on the market for $1.4 million. Before anyone knew it, the house had sold for $1.527 million.

It went to a local mixed family, who Mr Rodgers said “just wanted to buy something in a big block with shared space.”

“The sellers are extremely happy now,” he added. “They have enough to retire… travel around Australia in their van.”
