Holger Rune on Achilles tendon recovery: I’m walking again and aiming higher

Holger Runea Danish tennis player, regularly informs tennis fans about his recovery.

The Danish tennis player has set up a recovery base in Doha, with the aim of making a full recovery from his Achilles tendon injury.

Holger Rune reveals that the recovery process is challenging, but that his recovery is going in a much better direction than originally predicted.

The young tennis player has a lot of goals, but the most important thing is Rune’s hunger for a comeback.

“We set a number of goals week after week,” – he said Sports illustrated.

“When I came here, it would be like walking again. I already walk without my boot on, but when I leave here, which is on December 18, we will walk in normal shoes with a little heel up in my shoe. So I am a little elevated so as not to torture [myself] because that’s really what you want to avoid right now.”

The recovery of Rune

The 22-year-old shows how difficult it can sometimes be. However, he works intensively and emphasizes that he has great people who help him enormously. During the recovery process, Rune admitted that he had had many difficult days, but he never wanted to fall into depression or see everything negatively.

The supportive family, according to his words, was of great importance to him.

Holger has no doubt that fatigue was a decisive factor in his injury, given the demanding schedule and long season.

He believes that the ATP must take concrete steps to put an end to this.

Most tennis players talked about this problem month after month, especially at the end of the season. However, the ATP leaders still do not want to resort to changes. This dissatisfaction will only increase in the coming season and it seems that the majority of professional tennis players will have to accept this.
