Kasper Hjulmand is determined to see Bayer Leverkusen see their identity on the field when they organize PSV in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Leverkusen and PSV met twice before in the European competition, with both in the first round of the UEFA Cup 1994-95. After a 5-4 home victory for the German side in the first stage, the second stage in the Netherlands ended 0-0.
Leverkusen opened their European campaign with a 2-2 draw with FC Copenhagen, with a final-Gasp own goal that Hjulmand’s side gave a point.
The work themselves can still be losing under the DANE, because he replaced Erik ten Hag, won two and so far attracted two of their games under him.
Now, prior to their first home game match of Champions League of the season, Hjulmand strives for his first victory in the competition with Leverkusen, and he has high expectations of the team.
“Our focus is on showing our identity on the field tomorrow and playing the way we want. We will all give ourselves to win,” said Hjulmand.
“Every player can be who they want to be here – and we do our best to help all players develop in the best possible way. I see a great team, and if we fully realize the potentially, it can be great.”

Leverkusen are unbeaten in their seven meetings with Dutch parties in the European competition (W4 D3), with the most recent in the Champions League last season, in a 4-0 win over Feyenoord in the competition phase (September 2024).
And in general they have only lost two of their last 11 games in the Group/League phase of the Champions League (W5 D4).
PSV was defeated 3-1 by Union Saint-Gilloise in their opener in the competition, and although Edmond Tapsoba is wary of their threat, he is convinced that Leverkusen needs what is needed to get a positive result.
“It will be an intense duel [on Wednesday]We are prepared for that, “Tapsoba said.” The most important thing is to win. That’s what it’s all about.
“The team still gets to know each other. That takes time, and it gets better and better. That also makes us better on the field.
“We are well on our way to rebuilding that strong spirit of earlier. We give everything we all do, and I do my best to make my teammates feel good and help the team.”
