The Home Minister referred to the three new penal laws – the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA) – which replaced the IPC, CrPC and Indian Evidence Act on July 1, 2024.
