Hernandez and Shults share AHDC spotlight in Philly

CHESTER, Pa– The 2025 American Harness Drivers Club (AHDC) action wrapped up on Sunday (December 28) at Harrah’s Philadelphia, with Geovany Hernandez taking two wins and Michael Shults scoring in the other of the running card’s three $7,500 events.

Hernandez scored his first win in the second division of the AHDC Pace with 3-1 third choice Lew Hauber in a 1:55.1 mile. Once he took the lead after a :27 first quarter, Hernandez rolled under minimal pressure while building a significant cushion through a :55.2 half and 1:24.1 three-quarters. Lew Hauber’s lead dwindled down the stretch as he sauntered to the line for a 2-1/4 length victory over Try Line (driven by Bruce Baker), who rallied for second after a ground-saving trip. Rose Run Woodrow (Joe Lee), the 7-5 favorite, pushed from near last to third and Lenda Hand Man (Stacey McLenaghan) overcame a shuffle for fourth.
