Fulham made it a tough game and although Newcastle United comfortably had more clear-cut chances, the clock ticked to 90 minutes with the score at 1-1. Murphy had caught Bassey in possession and finished well, but Lukic equalized when a great save from Pope saw the ball hit the woodwork and fall kindly to the Fulham player to hit the line just ahead of Botman.
The subs certainly helped make a difference and Will Osula, the fifth of five, came on.
Leno could only parry the Dane’s attack and captain Bruno buried the winner.

Newcastle United’s head coach introduced this tradition of a post-match photo with everyone after every win, as he felt it had worked as a bonding exercise when he was at Bournemouth.
It’s also a huge bonus how much it excites fans of certain other clubs and journalists.
