A game in which United played so well, I can’t think of a player who didn’t make a major contribution.
Benfica had their moments in the first half, but a Newcastle goal through Gordon at half-time was about level.
However, Eddie Howe’s side ravaged the visitors in the second half, overwhelming them more and more physically the longer the match went on.
Super sub Harvey Barnes with two cool finishes, Anthony Gordon and Nick Pope with quality assists.
