Sports bikes are the best of the best when it comes to driving asphalt. There is nothing faster on a paved road or race track, but they are equally demanding from the rider. You have to be an athlete of world class with the flexibility of a yogi (not the bear) to ride one with its true potential. If you do not drive on the circuit, they are uncomfortable, hot and recalcitrant. That is a shame, because we spend most of our time everywhere, except on the track.
Motorcycle manufacturers have realized this, and the fact that most riders do not keep themselves unnecessary, thanks to the falling sale of sports bike. Today’s riders are a pits and are willing to give up a few tenths on the circuit if it means more comfort on the road. So here are ten sports bikes that nail the sweet spot between speed and comfort.

Kawasaki Ninja 650
Price: $ 7,399
The Ninja 650 is a simple bike. It has no air, and it does not try to be something that it is not, which is the most attractive. The latest update has brought driving modes, traction control and a TFT color display with Bluetooth -Connectivity that made it more useful. Add $ 600 to the price if you want dual-channel ABS to be added.

Triumph Daytona 660
Price: $ 9,195
The Daytona 675 was a Scalpel-SHARP instrument with which one could destroy round times; The Daytona 660 is cut from another cloth. It is a friendly motorcycle in the vein of the Ninja 650, but with Triumph’s unique three -cylinders take how things should be done. Although it has more cylinders than usual, 80 percent of the torque is available from just 3,125 rpm, which means that you can drive it as a street bike whenever you want. The suspension has no other adaptability than the rear input tax, but is from Showa, with SFF-BP pre-pork. Traction control and ABS are standard and a two -way Quickshifter is optional.

Suzuki GSX-8R
Price: $ 9,699
The GSX-8R is essentially a bastard of the naked GSX-8S, with clip-on steering. The slightly more aggressive seating position lends itself well to going in a hurry around the corners, while they still stay upright enough to be comfortable in living work traffic. It gets all the goodies you would expect from a modern middleweight sports bike: a 270-degree parallel Twin-Motor, a TFT color display, a by-wire throttle with rhythmodi, nissinrums with twin 310 mm front discs, showa suspension with SFF-BP-Forks. A two -way Quickshifter, ABS and Traction Control make it easy to drive aggressively.
Engine type | 270 degrees parallel twins, liquid cooling, dohc, 4 valves per cylinder |
Displacement | 776 CC |
Max Power | 83 hp @ 8,500 rpm |
Maximum torque | 57.5 LB-FT @ 6,800 rpm |

7
Aprilia RS 660
Price: $ 11,749
The RS 660 is considerably more expensive than the GSX-8R, despite having a smaller travel engine, but that is because it is filled with technology. This is a sports bike that leans more on the ‘sport’ side of the fence, but does not lose sight of the fact that it must also be a daily motorcycle. You get an aluminum Twin-Spar frame and an aluminum swingern bridge to keep weight low. For the same reason, the rear bridge is mounted directly on the motor carter and the mounting point is vertically adjustable to adjust the handling characteristics of the RS660. You also get an excellent electronics suite, a huge 105 hp and MotoGP style wings.
Engine type | 270 degrees parallel twins, liquid cooling, dohc, 4 valves per cylinder |
Displacement | 659 CC |
Max Power | 105 hp @ 10,400 rpm |
Maximum torque | 51.6 LB-FT @ 8,400 rpm |
Transfer | 6 speeds, optional two -way Quickshifter |

Yamaha YZF-R9

The YZF-R9 is the RS660 but with more strength and a little less aggression. It has one of the large motorcycling engines that drive, the Crosspreme CP3 inline three engine, with 117 hp. You also get a complete electronics suite, wings for downforce and goodies such as a TFT screen that can display round times and even pitboard messages at the bottom. The appearance is perhaps a bit polarizing, but what you can’t deny is that this is a hugely capable sports bike, both on and next to the circuit.
Engine type | CP3 Crossplane Inline Three, liquid cooling, Dohc, 4 valves per cylinder |
Displacement | 890 cc |
Max Power | 117 hp @ 10,000 rpm |

Final ride | Chain drive |
5
Duck Panigent V2
Price: $ 15,995
The Panigale V2 is a combination of the YZF-R9 and RS 660: it generates more performance by throwing weight, such as the Aprilia, and it has an output that is comparable to the Yamaha. However, this is still a ducati and a panigale, so you get everything, such as the chassis and the electronics suite. Ducati has clearly made an emphasis on it to make the smaller Panigale an easier bike to live with in the real world without losing its race track. However, it can be a good idea to stumble the extra $ 3,000 for the panigal V2s and the electronic suspension if you are going to spend more than usual time on the circuit with your panigale V2.
Engine type | 90-degree V-twin, liquid cooling, Dohc, 4 valves per cylinder, variable valve timing on inlet valves |
Displacement | 890 cc |
Max Power | 120 hp @ 10,750 rpm |

BMW R 1300 RS
Price: $ 16,995
BMW classifies the R 1300 RS under its ‘Sport’ section, but calls it a sports tourer in the literature on the page itself. This sets the tone for what this motorcycle is; Fast but comfortable. It uses many things from the R 1300 GS, including the powertrain and the rear Sweeparm technology and suspension. However, the front wheel suspension is ordinary telescopic forks, so it should feel more like a sports bike while it is a corner. This has a more mass than your usual sports bike, but it has a complete electronics suite and electronic suspension as standard. A whole series of upgrades is also possible, depending on how deep your bags go.
Engine type | Horizontal against Twin, Dohc, 4 valves per cylinder, liquid cooled |

The ZX-14R is a dinosaur, and now he can now breathe his last, thanks to emission standards. Let’s go through what makes it special: it has the world’s largest inline four motorcycle engine in history. Thanks to emission standards, it will probably stay that way. 200 hp is nowadays feasible by most liter bikes, but to ask them to reach the head figure of the ZX-14R, she will be looking for answers. Nothing goes beyond, from the Araachnid headlamp design, to the monocoque chassis that lowers weight and width. When it goes on all dinosaurs on the road, it leaves the same in awe and reverence that we have for them.

Suzuki Hayabusa

The core is that you can launch it (preferably a tow strip) with three different levels of violence, depending on your appetite, and the cruise control does not loosen with a gearbox. It retains everything else that made it one of the best in what it does, including a complete electronics suite and even bungee points for luggage.
Engine type | Inline four cylinder, liquid cooling, Dohc, 4 valves per cylinder |
Displacement | 1,340 cc |
