More than five years after his first retirement from mixed martial arts, Henry Cejudo will return to action this weekend. ‘Triple C’ has vowed to walk away from MMA again after his fight against Payton Talbott, suggesting he wants to spend more time with his family instead of training.

Since his comeback, the 38-year-old Cejudo has lost three in a row to Aljamain Sterling, Merab Dvalishvili and Song Yadong. In Talbott he takes on a rising star who could one day have the potential to become a very big name for the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
However, in a recent media battle, Cejudo suggested there is a chance he could be lured back into the cage after UFC 323.
Cejudo discusses retirement from mixed martial arts
“This is it for me, guys,” Cejudo told MMA Junkie and other reporters during a media bash. “This is it for me, unless Dana (White) gives me a big fight with another Mexican, then I would be willing to do it. Other than that, I think I’ve done everything at the highest level since I was 11 years old. From losing weight at that damn moment, and there’s just a lot of satisfaction in my life. I’m ready to move on too. I have some kids who want to play with their dad 24/7.”
“It’s about nothing but giving what I have, and what I wasn’t given in my last fight,” Cejudo said. “That’s it. Honestly. You know, despite whatever the outcome might be. Payton is good. Payton is a humble guy. He came out to be mentored by me for a few days when he came to Arizona. So that says a lot about him.”
