You have been part of the historical series, such as India’s 2020-21 Tour through Australia. How was that experience?

When the border-gavaskar trophy started and we were only excluded in the first game, nobody expected the series to unfold as it did in the end. However, a positive positive was the approach of coach Ravi Shastri Sir. After that loss, when we had a meeting on the ground, his first instruction was clear: we would not consider the defeat. It had to happen once, and it did – now we will continue. From there, the series turned into something unforgettable.

After the first game, one player was injured, then another in the second, and another in the third. Despite these setbacks, we fought further and won the series – a really proud moment. What made it even more special was that 4-5 young players made their debut during that tour, and they all came to the occasion of the occasion. We lived every bit of that trip. Until the last game was won, it was not entirely in. But the moment that the victory of us was, we realized – this was the moment we lived. This was the real joy of the game.

What is your opinion about the current debate about the workload?

I think this is a very good thing – workload management. Cricket was previously different. Now it’s different. I believe this. We play so many matches all year round. Workload management is currently very important. Because we know that the player who is a match winner, after 2-3 games, we can give him a break. Because there are 4-5 bowlers in a team. All five bowlers do not play together. So, a player who is a match winner can get a break after 2-3 games, so that he can recover and win the next game.

The player who does not play also gets the chance to win the game. I think this workload management is a very good thing. Because we have to know at the end of the day that we have to win the competition. And who are our players who can win the game. And if you make a team of 15, all your players are competition winners. And the most important thing is how long we can serve India and win the competition. That is why workload management is a very good thing.

We saw the tour of England. Mohammed Siraj’s performance in that series, in which he played in all five games. What do you think of him?

The most important thing is that I have viewed it since the beginning. We played together in India. I kept a close eye on him. I know he is a Bowler champion and he believes in himself. He believes he can do everything in every situation. That’s why we call him Miyaan Magic.

The best thing about him is that he plays all matches. And the second is that he gives everything in the first and lately. He believes in himself and his attitude is very good.
