Rana struck twice in the first over he bowled as he sent Quinton de Kock and Ryan Rickelton back to the hut before the exceptionally talented top-order batters could trouble the scorers.
When Rana returned for his second spell, he was troubled by explosive Proteas batsman Dewald Brevis, who decided to launch an attack on the pacer.
Dewald Brevis even hit a remarkable no-look six off Rana in the 20th over, which hurt the pacer’s ego, and he became desperate to pick the right-hander’s wicket.
In his next over, Rana bowled three back-to-back dot balls against Dewald Brevis before taking his wicket on the fourth.
The right arm quickly bowled a full-length delivery outside off stump as Brevis moved forward to the loft. The South African batsman could not make a good connection with the ball and was caught at the sweeper cover by Ruturaj Gaikwad.
Harshit Rana was absolutely thrilled after picking the wicket, and he gave the batsman a fiery send-off by wagging his finger and firing off a few expletives.
Virat Kohli also looked charged up and celebrated aggressively as Brevis took a long walk back to the pavilion after scoring 37 runs off 28 balls, with two fours and three sixes.

Virat Kohli smashes a sensational century against the Proteas
In the first innings of the match, modern batsman Virat Kohli played an exceptional knock to take India to a whopping total of 349/8 in 50 overs.
Kohli scored a whopping 135 runs off 120 balls. His sensational innings was studded with 11 fours and 7 sixes, and it was his 52nd century in ODI cricket.
“Virat Kohli’s 83rd century is a testament to his passion and discipline, which continues to set new benchmarks. His remarkable journey remains an inspiration for every young cricketer. A fantastic blow @imVkohli @BCCI,” Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) vice-president Rajiv Shukla wrote on X, hailing Kohli.
“This guy can bat a bit,” Dale Steyn, the legendary South African National Cricket Team pacer, who often faced Kohli during his playing career, wrote on X.
