Harry Redknapp has picked two Newcastle United stars.
The former Bournemouth and Spurs boss has picked his eleven best players from the midweek action. The Premier League team has impressed him the most.
His top 11 includes two notable players from Newcastle United.
Players who, according to Harry, contributed so much to the stunning 4-3 win over Leeds United.
A match in which Leeds took the lead three times.
Only for Newcastle United to equalize three times AND then that final goal in the 12th minute of extra time…
Harry Redknapp explains why he chose the scorer of the winning goal…“Harvey Barnes has to be in the team. What a ridiculous game that was against Leeds and Barnes scored a couple of goals. I couldn’t believe what I saw! He’s been one of Newcastle’s best players this season.”
When Harvey Barnes gets the ball into potential goalscoring positions, there’s no one you’d rather rely on to score. However, he can be a bit faceless at times and often looks much more dangerous when not being used on the bench.
On this occasion, however, Harvey Barnes started the match and scored Newcastle’s first equalizer AND then that winner deep into extra time.
Harry Redknapp explains his other Newcastle United pick to BetVictor: “I’m putting Lewis Miley at right-back. The young lad has been excellent for Newcastle in the last few games, even in an unnatural position. For a young player to do so well from position says a lot to me. He’s clearly got a good character and Eddie clearly has a lot of confidence in him.”
In my opinion, there is certainly no disagreement about this.
Lewis Miley just keeps looking better and better wherever he plays on the team.
On Wednesday night, the teenager actually started at right-back and then moved into midfield, before eventually finishing the match as a centre-back, taking off Thiaw and stretching Schar.
Just excellent from Lewis Miley, and he was the one who did so well to keep the ball in play and then pass it to Bruno who then used that quality outside the bootcross for Joelinton to head home.
