Harry Amass has made an impressive start to his loan spell at Sheffield Wednesday.
The Manchester United left-back has emerged as a rare shining spark in what has been a turbulent season for the Championship side.
His energy and attacking intentions down the Owls’ left flank have earned him plenty of praise.
Remarkably, he has started all eleven games for which he was available, a testament to his consistency and growing importance.
Despite suffering a 3-1 defeat to Southampton on Wednesday, Amass scored a stunning long-range strike this weekend; his first goal in senior football. A milestone moment, even if it came in defeat.

Concerns about development
Although Amass impressed individually, his loan club remained winless in their last nine games. It raises a fair question: is Hillsborough the ideal environment for its development?
Interestingly, United have included a break clause in the teenager’s loan deal, and this could come into play soon.
Concerns at Hillsborough
Sheffield Wednesday are reportedly concerned that United could activate the clause.
Head coach Henrik Pedersen already hinted at this in his recent comments via The star:
“I have spoken to Kevin (Beadell, recruitment manager). Today we went to Manchester to discuss this situation going forward with them.
“I think we’ll have this back in the next two or three weeks as we talk about Harry’s development and what it might look like after Christmas.”
It is clear from these comments that United are considering whether Amass should remain at Hillsborough beyond the festive period.
And given United’s left-back issues, it is understandable that they are considering a recall, potentially giving Amass the chance to stake his claim at left-back.
Amass could save United millions
The 18-year-old impressed when called upon last season, and now that he has blossomed in the physically demanding Championship, he could be worth a try at left-back.
He could provide the competition Patrick Dorgu needs, something Diogo Dalot does not.
By doing this, Amass could save INEOS millions in transfer fees, money that would otherwise have been spent on signing a left-back like Federico Dimarco.
