All eyes will be at Gloucester Park this Friday evening when the best of the two -year -olds are against each other in the Golden Slipper of $ 150,000, but only one can be crowned the winner, who will it be?
Gary Hall JNR had the choice of three discs in the position, with D Mac NZ (Downby theseaside) Signed in two, 2yo Westbred Classic winner Ideal beach drawn next to barrier three, and I am Stealthy NZ Wijd in Barrier Eight, and Hall JNR has confirmed that he will take the ride on board D Mac NZ.
“I would probably always control the horse that got the best draw.
“I have a lot of time for ideal beach, he is one of the nicest two -year -olds I have driven.”
Hall JNR said he does not believe that there is much between the three discs he was offered in the position, and stated that he was very impressed by im Stealthy NZ after the success of Monday in Pinjarra.
Hall hopes to lead completely on Friday evening with D Mac from Barrier Three, who is the least experienced horse that starts the race.
D Mac NZ has only had the two starts, and only one in wa, but won impressive in the Golden Slipper Prelude 12 days ago.
The other Hall SNR Runner, im Stealthy NZ will be powered by Stuart McDonald, but will have to overcome Barrier Eight.
Jack Callaghan has trained the ride on the impressive Justin Prentice Prentice, ideal beach protected for the function.
“He jumped yesterday and felt really good. He looks great, I’m happy with him.
“It looks difficult to beat that one of Juniors (D Mac NZ) that went on the road, there is probably an improvement in, and it is pulled into us, which makes it quite difficult, but I think you never know, there are some horses that are wide, who have pretty good gate speed, I don’t know if they will not continue.
“I would not say that I am confident, but I have faith in where he is, I am really happy with him.” Said Prentice.
Talented gelding el mystro cut an early battle in the barrier draw when he landed Barrier Seven in the position, a draw that trainer Robbie Williams predicts will be extremely difficult to overcome.
“This year he was hired in all major races.
“D Mac looks very difficult to beat the draw. Hopefully we can pose well and end strong.
“He is super talented, just needs a little luck when running.”
El MyStro starts the race of Friday with three victories to his name of only seven starts, with the son of Lather Up USA finished second behind iDeal Beach in the GR1 Pearl Classic on his fourth start on August 15.
