Haji Wright is an important reason for the success of Coventry City in the EFL championship, but the American attacker has credited his manager because he was the inspiration behind his great form.
Wright praised Sky Blues Manager and former international of England Frank Lampard during his media availability on Tuesday for the National Team Duty of the American men. The 27-year-old Wright is currently leading the Golden Boot of the championship with eight goals, while Coventry City is the top of the competition table with 19 points.
After taking over as a Coventry manager last November, Lampard de Sky Blues helped to reach the promotion play-offs in the spring before he started an unbeaten run of nine games in competition game. He has won 22 of his 44 games that are in charge of the Second Division Club, while he also contributes 14 goals in all competitions in all competitions.
Wright now has a strong chance of stimulating his stock for the No. 9 -Rol of the USMNT this fall and thanked Lampard for helping him get the chance.
“Lampard has been a great inspiration for me since he entered,” Wright told reporters. “He has shown me a lot of conviction, was able to help me with training and then games to … just perform my best.
“He is a great player during his time, and now he is a great person to be nearby, and he is very handsome, so it’s easy to talk to him when I have questions,” Wright added. “He has become the best out of me so far.”
Wright is looking for his first USMNT minutes since he once scored in a 5-0 Concacaf Gold Cup victory on Trinidad & Tobago last June. Despite finding the back of the net on that occasion, Wright eventually left the camp due to an injury from Achilles, one that obstructed the start of his preview course.
However, Wright is back in the Mauricio Pochettino team and has demonstrably driven the best form of his career to date. Although he admitted that missing the Gold Cup schedule was disappointing, Wright’s fast shift to the preparation for the Coventry City schedule helped him to get back on the right track.
“I was super excited to be at the Gold Cup and to be with the boys. [It was] Disappointing not to really contribute, “Wright said.” I just tried to heal and prepare myself for the season, and hopefully to earn my place back in the national [team]. “

Wright has scored five goals in 17 caps for the USMNT and will try to add to those figures, starting with the home -friendly US. Ecuador from Friday.
