Gujarat woman stabs ex-partner eight times and kills him with the help of his friend

A 45-year-old man, identified as Sawan Goswami, was killed after he was stabbed eight times in Rajkot in Gujarat by his ex-partner and her boyfriend on the day of Makar Sankranti. Police immediately arrived on the scene after receiving information and took the seriously injured victim to the civil hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Police investigation revealed that Goswami had been in a relationship with a woman named Varsha for four months, but the relationship ended after disputes and Varsha moved in with a new partner. Sawan was reportedly distressed by this and had several altercations with Varsha, including one the day before the incident for which a police complaint was filed.

On the day of the event, Sawan went to Varsha’s house and the two had another altercation. Then the latter, with the help of her boyfriend, attacked him with a knife and stabbed him eight times, resulting in his death.

Talking about the incident, a senior police officer told India Today, “The murder took place due to multiple disputes between the victim and the suspect. The victim, Sawan, was upset when his ex-partner started living with someone else, and he often argued. On the day of the murder, the fallout escalated to a level where the woman and her boyfriend stabbed him eight times, causing his death. The police have arrested Varsha and her new partner and further investigation is underway.”
