Gujarat, which is good for more than 50 percent of the total earthnut production of India, is expected to reach a record high this year of 66 Lakh Ton Aardnut, according to the state government.
Last year the ground nut production in the state was 52.20 Lakh Ton and according to the provisional estimates, Gujarat will reach 26 percent more production this year. During the current Kharif season, earthnut was sown in 22 Lakh hectare, which is approximately 15 percent more than 19.1 Lakh hectare sown in 2024-25. This year, more than 16.64 hectares have been sown in the Saurashtra region, which is also a primary cotton-growing region. Almost 40,000 hectares of the earth nut crop is located in the Noord -Gujarat region, of which parts were flooded last week due to heavy rainfall.
