Ten golfers have been selected for the Great Britain and Ireland team to participate in the United States of America in the 50th Walker Cup match on Cypress Point

GB and I are on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 September at the breathtaking location at the Monterey Peninsula in California in California and offer for the first time since 2015 to win the famous trophy when the team won a 16½-9½ victory in Royal Lytham & St Annes.

Dean Robertson will lead the GB & I side, with the former European Tour winner leading his team to an impressive 16½-8½ triumph over the continent of Europe on the St Andrews trophy in Spain last month.

Robertson said: “This talented team represents the very best in skill, unity, resilience and determination and every player deserves the opportunity to compete in the Walker Cup for Great Britain and Ireland.

“I have monitored the players for a long period to understand their personalities and attributes to meet the requirements of Cypress Point.

“We are underdogs, but I am convinced that we are equipped to compete at the highest level and will give our best chance. We travel to Cypress Point to embrace the challenge, honor the legacy of the Walker Cup and strive for history by reclaiming this famous trophy.”

The top five players on the World Amateur Golf Ranking® (WAGR®) and five selections form the GB & I side. The team includes all nine players who won the St Andrews trophy last month, including Luke Poulter, son of Ian, and fellow Englishman Tyler Weaver, the top player in the side on 11th on Wagr®.

The Scottish Duo Cameron Adam and Connor Graham, who both qualified to participate in the 153rd Open at Royal Portush, were recorded at Graham, the only recurring player in the team lost to the US 14½-11½ at St Andrews in 2023. Countryman Niall’s Dongan.

Former professional Stuart Grehan makes his Walker Cup debut after the return of the Irishman to the amateur ranks in 2025.
