Alexander Isak’s Newcastle teammate Anthony Gordon “hopes that everyone gets what they want” from a constant saga about the future of the Swedish striker.
Liverpool has now rejected their first official offer for Isak, with Newcastle rejecting an offer in the £ 110 million region.
Although it is expected that a deal can be reached, the current club of the 25-year-old will hold their appreciation of £ 150 million, while otherwise he is not for sale.
Isak has been absent in the team, because it became clear that he insisted on a move to Liverpool, which clearly hit the mood in Newcastle.
But talk to the Mail‘s Craig Hope, Gordon used experience of intense speculation in the past in his own future to take a philosophical view of Isak’s situation.
“I would never lie. It was difficult for me because I had the euros, which was terrible for me mentally for me. I was there, I didn’t play,” said the winger, after a move to Liverpool last summer.
“Then I had the transfer items. With PSR I thought I would leave the window at a certain point.
“It didn’t happen. I had to hang out my head [thinking I was leaving] to begin with, and then to get my head around it again [when it didn’t happen] was difficult.
“I am a human. It is really difficult. That is why I understand what Alex is going through.
“I feel for him. He will continue a lot. The club will continue a lot. I hope everyone will eventually get what they want.”
During his interview, Gordon spoke more about the human aspect of life as a football player and that bloods through in his evaluation of the future of Isak.
Although he would rather keep the Swede as his teammate in St James’ park, there seems to be an acceptance that the situation should be decided to fit his desires as an individual.
That will of course depend on Liverpool and Newcastle that can conclude an agreement, because football is now a large money company with players who are considered assets.
But although Isak may have raged in Newcastle supporters with his actions in recent weeks, it does not seem to have extended to those who are close to him, such as Gordon.
Liverpool is likely to return with a new bid at their priority center in the coming days, with the possibility that they can close a deal to around £ 135 million.
