Numerous Google Cloud Services, including that are used on a large scale within health care, such as Google Vertex AI online prediction, Dialogflow CX, Agent Assist and Contact Center AI, fell nearly four hours that users influence worldwide.
“We have identified the main cause and appropriate mitigations. Our infrastructure has been restored in all regions except US-Central1,” said the tech giant Status Earlier this afternoon.
“Google Cloud products that depend on the affected infrastructure see recovery at multiple locations. Our engineers are aware of the customers who still experience problems at US-Central1 and Multi-Region/US and actively work on full recovery.”
At the time of writing, the tech giant said it had no estimated time for full -service restoration.
In addition to healthcare, the malfunction also influenced large internet services, including Spotify, Cloudflare, Snapchat, Character.ai and Discord.
The larger trend
Vertex AI is a machine learning platform Used by hospitals, digital health startups, research institutions and pharmaceutical companies for diagnostic support, personalized treatment recommendations using patient data, risk scoring and operational support.
Dialogflow CX and Agent Assist are also increasingly being used in health care as clinical support tools and to help with administrative workflows.
Contact center AI is actively used in health care for patient planning, triage, billing support and virtual front door services.
