Good news, bad news

Good news, bad news

A 2026 Topps fat suit story.

I visited the Target card aisle again on Monday as I was also doing some birthday shopping there.

GOOD NEWS

The shelves are (again) fully stocked and this time also filled with 2025 Stadium Club, together with 2026 Topps and 2025 Update. (Not my photo, I forgot to take one).

BAD NEWS

The hanger boxes were gone. So, against my better judgement, I grabbed a few fat packs (they’re a dupes machine).

GOOD NEWS

I found the Ohtani card.

BAD NEWS

Some of the cards in the first pack were cut incorrectly.

GOOD NEWS

None of the Dodgers were cut wrong and I needed them all!

GOOD NEWS

The Stars of MLB card belonged to Paul Skenes.

BAD NEWS

The 1991 addition was:

a) A Rockie

b) A player I don’t know

c) With a City Connect uniform that I don’t like

GOOD NEWS

Jumps against the wall! (Who needs Stadium Club?)

GOOD NEWS

This card gave me a post idea (no hints. You should be surprised).

BAD NEWS

I got the same Titans of the Game from both packs.

GOOD NEWS

I like the look of the Greatest Hits inserts.

GOOD NEWS

As I was looking through the cards, I realized that the main abbreviation that everyone complained about is actually useful for quickly determining the team (for example, when looking for cards for a trade).

BAD NEWS

SO MANY DUPES!

I really didn’t buy much in 2026 – one blaster, one pendant box, and three grease packs – but the dupes are close to the cards I needed.

GOOD NEWS

The team cards are good night cards, but I haven’t checked if they fit in the folder.

BAD NEWS

Two packs were $15. That’s not bad, but it still costs 19 cents per card and many of those cards were damaged or I didn’t need them!

GOOD NEWS

This is the last 2026 Topps Series 1 post I will make.
