A crucial meeting of the GOM of ministers of state financing on GST -Rationalization started on Thursday when they started consulting the center’s proposal to reduce tax plates to 5 and 18 percent.
The 6-member group ministers (GOM) about rationalization of the interest rate is chaired by Bihar Vice Prime Minister Samrat Choudhay.
The other members are Uttar Pradesh Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna, Rajasthan Health Minister Gajendra Singh, Minister of Finance of West Bengal Finance Chandrima Bhattacharya, Karnataka Revenue Minister byre Gowda and Kerala Financial Knopal.

“The rationalization of the rate will offer greater lighting to the common man, farmers, the middle class and MSMEs, while guaranteeing a simplified, transparent and growing tax regime,” Minister of Finance Nirmala Sitharaman had the group of ministers (GOMs) on Wednesday and Rentraad.
Then De Gom met about insurance on Wednesday evening and discussed the center’s proposal to release GST about health and life insurance policies for individuals. The proposal probably has a turnover effect of £ 9,700 crore per year, but most states were on board.
The States also emphasized that the GST council should come up with a mechanism to ensure that the GST benefits reach the policyholders.
The GOM about rationalization of rate in its meeting On Thursday, the proposal of the center to classify goods and services as ‘merit’ and ‘standard’ and discussing 5 and 18 percent rates. Moreover, a special 40 percent rate has been proposed on 5-7 articles, including SIN goods.
The Center’s proposal means that the 12 and 28 percent records are eliminated, with 99 percent of the items in the 12 percent bracket that are redesigned to 5 percent and 90 percent in the 28 percent plate that falls to 18 percent.
