Golf until Halloween

Golf until Halloween

Halloween is second only to Christmas as the largest commercial holiday in the United States.

I’m not sure what that says about us as a nation, but given the merchandising possibilities, it’s not surprising that several golf companies are having fun with it. Given the broad scope of the genre – from books to films, comics, video games, board games and other art forms – there is a lot of room to work.

(For what it’s worth, I wrote one book about Halloween legends.)

One of my favorite golf companies — Real Linkswear – has been active for years with their “Dead Golfer Society” shoes, apparel and accessories.

This year they have new OG3 Pro Dead golfer shoes, slippers, t-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts and more.

I especially love the OG3 Pro Dead Golfer shoes (pictured above). Their crew neck sweatshirt is cute too.

Another favorite — Super blow — has also been offering Halloween-themed products for several years.

This year’s special edition features zombies and glows in the dark. I’m not sure about the point of a glow in the dark golf grip, but it’s cool.

In recent years they offered Masked Slasher and a Headless Horseman Grip. I’m still kicking myself for not getting a Headless Horseman grip.

Super Stroke has a Marvel license, so I think they have a Werewolf at night or Tomb of Dracula grip. I have one of their Iron Man Tour 2.0 putter grips, and it’s great.

Over the years I have collected a number of Halloween-esque headgear for drivers. In the photo above, the one on the left is a barrel-shaped model from True Linkswear.

The one in the middle is from Hell For Leather Golf, which I ordered in England before the tariffs. While some may not consider Godzilla part of the horror genre, I definitely think it belongs in the “atomic horror” category.

The company that makes the Godzilla cover Hell for Leather has a lot of cool head covers from different nerd genres. However, they are in England and I ordered before the rates so who knows if they are available at this time.

The Grim Reaper headcover I bought of Amazonia.

Mostly, though, the Halloween headcovers are an uninspired bunch of skulls – of the sugar skull or Punisher variety. There’s also way too much skull and crossbones themed gear.

I want a Cthulhu themed headgear. Like Lovecraftian Horrors, golf is full of things that humans weren’t supposed to know.

To that end, I had AI generate the above Cthulhu Driver headcover.

Callaway has a limited edition Chrome Tour golf ball with a chainsaw print. That’s not bad, but the Chrome Tour is out of my price range.

Bridgestone has brought back its “Boo” golf ball. When it first came out, it was a tribute to “Boo” Weekley, one of their tour players.

TaylorMade has a Pirate and Werewolf collection of golf balls and headcovers. Their Full Moon Blade Putter Headcover is seductive.

Finally, I recently discovered a company called Roosevelts (rsvlts.com), which has a huge selection of nerd clothing and accessories. They have gear featuring Scooby Doo, Disney, General Mill’s monster cereal characters (Count Chocula, etc.), Universal Monsters, Marvel Zombies, Batman, the Peanuts, skeletal dogs, Mars Attacks, Goosebumps, Disney villains and much more. A big part of that, though, is clothing. I haven’t bought any yet, so I can’t say anything about the quality and such.

If you know of any other cool Halloween themed golf gear, please leave a comment.
