The Los Angeles Dodgers starting rotation made history during the NLCS against the Milwaukee Brewers, with an ERA of 0.63 – the lowest in League Championship history.
Blake Snell kicked off the NLCS with eight scoreless innings against the Brewers, allowing just one hit during his outing. He was fantastic for the Dodgers throughout the postseason, allowing just two runs in 21 innings in his three starts during the playoffs.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto started Game 2 and pitched a complete game while allowing just one run. Yamamoto bounced back from a rough start against the Philadelphia Phillies in the NLDS with his dominant performance, striking out seven while allowing just three hits.
Tyler Glasnow was the pitcher for Game 3 and he continued his strong postseason run with 5.2 scoreless innings at home, leading the Dodgers to a 3-0 lead in the NLCS and setting the stage for Shohei Ohtani in Game 4. The run Glasnow allowed in Game 3 is the only one he has given up this postseason in 13.2 innings work.
Ohtani stole the show in Game 4, taking over on both sides of the ball. The superstar struck out 10 batters in six shutout innings, and also went 3-for-3 with three home runs en route to the NLCS MVP award.
The Dodgers’ rotation has been the most important part of their dominant postseason run thus far and they will be well rested for the World Series, which begins Friday, October 24. The Dodgers will face either the Seattle Mariners or the Toronto Blue Jays in the World Series and posted records against both teams during the regular season.
The Mariners and Blue Jays will resume play on Sunday at 5:08 PM PT, when the Mariners will have a chance to clinch the first trip to the World Series in their franchise’s history.
