The Winnipeg Jets (0-1-0) will be looking for their first win of the season when the Los Angeles Kings (1-1-0) visit the Canada Life Center on Saturday afternoon. On a day when all 32 National Hockey League franchises are in action, our club will have the opportunity to kick off the first game of the day.
The Jets clearly lacked defensive strength Dylan Samberg in the opener, because they allowed the Dallas Stars so many scoring opportunities in the opening game. Despite that fact, coaches Scott Arniel and the company have the same lineup on Saturday. We can hope they get different results this time. At least the hat trick of the newly inked Kyle Connor gave us fans something to cheer about.
The Kings split their two games this season, dropping their opener in LA against the Colorado Avalanche (4-1) before spoiling the Vegas Golden Knights’ home opener with a 6-5 shootout victory. Without pre-game skating this morning to confirm the projected lines, we’ll use those PuckPedia had from the last game of the franchise.
WINNIPEG JETS ALIGNING
LOS ANGELES KINGS LINE

*****
Once again, the visiting club has some familiar faces in the organization, as Los Angeles is now home to former Jets Joel Armia & Jeff Malott.
Yet there is also a strong Kings flavor in Winnipeg’s roster, with Gabriel Vilardi, Alex Iafallo, Tanner Pearson& Hatch violation they all wore an LA jersey at some point in their careers. And it doesn’t end at the NHL level, as the Manitoba Moose also have former Kings Samuel Fagemo, Jarton-Dalan& Kyle Clague. Then there’s the unsigned one Rasmus buyer at.
When it comes to today’s clash, I really hope the Jets can split the tough two opening games (OF THE) before they can find more consistent success in seven consecutive matches against non-playoff clubs from last season (YOU, NSH, CGY, ZEE, CGY, & UTH).

Game 2 was definitely a back-and-forth affairā¦..with the Winnipeg Jets storming out of the gates allowing the Los Angeles Kings to dominate long stretches of the rest of the game. In the end, top class goalkeeping was delivered Connor Hellebuyck (Save .938%) and a little bit of magic from Highlight creams (few goals to complete the comeback) ultimately saved the day for the True North franchise.
Things should get easier for a while now, as the Jets have seven straight games against clubs that failed to qualify for the postseason last year.
