According to the World Steel Association (Worldsteel), the output fell in the top producer, China, by 0.7% at 77.4 MT.

Global steel production rose by 0.3 percent in August 2025 to 145.3 million tonnes (MT) compared to the 144.8 MT a year ago.

The steel output from Türkiye rose by 7.9 percent to 3.4 MT and Germany’s production went to the north by 10.5 percent to 2.6 MT. The steel production in Brazil also registered a dip at 2.9 mt, a decrease of 4.6 percent. Iran produced 1.6 MT steel, an increase of 17.9 percent.

In terms of regionally, Africa registered a decrease of 3.8 percent in steel production at 1.8 MT in August 2025, while Asia and Oceania produced 107.7 T steel, an increase of 0.4 percent.

The EU (27) produced 8.8 MT steel, a decrease of 2.8 percent. The production of Europe (other) increased by 2.1 percent by 3.7 mt. The output of West Asia shot up to 3.8 MT, an increase of 21.5 percent.

Noord -America registered a growth of 1.6 percent in 9.1 MT Steel and Russia and other Cislands Together with Ukraine, their figures saw 4.9 percent decrease at 6.7 MT. The production of South America fell by 5 percent to 3.6 MT.
